Beginning in the 2026 tax year, there is a new opportunity to save on taxes while supporting a cause you care about. If you take the standard deduction, you can now deduct up to $1,000 in cash donations, or $2,000 for married couples filing jointly. This is an “above-the-line” deduction, meaning it is in addition to the standard deduction. As always, check with a tax professional for more detailed information.
